Bug Jam 21
Santa Pod Raceway 20th - 22rd July

Bug Jam was the latest event on the Lucas Oils Top Fuel dragster team's 2007 promotional tour. The annual VW drag racing and music festival attracts thousands of VW fans every year and unfortunately also attracted heavy rain on Friday and Saturday. This made conditions in the packed camp sites somewhat boggy to say the least. There were rumours of Noah and his Ark being seen in the fire-up road during one heavy shower late on Saturday, luckily just after we had packed the car away.

Despite the damp conditions both Saturday and a sunny Sunday were very busy and the Lucas Oils Top Fuel car attracted a constant stream of people, many of whom had not seen a Top Fuel car up close or actually race live before. Once you mention the fact that the car produces around 8000 horsepower they wanted to learn more about how the car works and were genuinely interested in what we do... in fact many said they would be back to see us race at the FIA European Finals in September.

Overall it was a very successful event for the team and Lucas Oil and all our associate sponsors , many hundreds of hero cards were given out and I'm sure if people who said they would come to the finals do then we will have attracted many more new drag racing fans.
