No Rest for Lucas Oil Team

Although the racing season is over for this year most teams will still be very busy preparing for the 2008 season, this is certainly true in the Carter Motorsport / Andersen Racing / Lucas Oil team.

Andy Carter has just attended the Classic Car Show held at the NEC in Birmingham. The enormous show has around a 1000 cars on display from 1920's gentleman's carriages to Italian super cars and hundreds of trade stands where you could buy anything from a nut and bolt to a fully restored classic - over 70,000 people visited the five halls over the course of the three day show. Where better for the team's principal sponsor, Lucas Oil, to showcase their wide range of products. Andy was on hand to assist Les and Stuart from Lucas Oil, answer questions about Lucas Oil products, talk about drag racing and sign posters. Like all the other non-racing events we have attended this year it was a great opportunity to talk to people without the pressure of a race environment.

Coming up is a joint work weekend in Denmark where the UK based crew will join the Andersen Racing team at the workshop to help prepare the race car for next season. I'm sure there will be a small amount of relaxation time as well and it will also a good for everyone to meet up again outside of a race event and further increase the strong bond that was formed between everyone in 2007.

In early December the UK based show car will be completely stripped and cleaned ready for the Autosport International show at the NEC in January - this will be our first promotional event for Lucas Oil and associate sponsors of 2008 - we will also be cleaning and tidying the race trailer so that we maintain the high professional standards we set ourselves. We are again proud to be part of the impressive Santa Pod display at the NEC and we are looking forward to meeting the public and the many drag racing fans that attend this massive event - hopefully we can educate some of them on what a great sport we have!

That's it for this update; look out for a report and pictures from the Denmark weekend on this website in December.

We would also like to thank our sponsors for their invaluable support in 2007 and look forward to another successful season in 2008.
