29th July, 2010 - 11:00 - Welcome To Sweden!
Welcome to Mantorp Park in Sweden for round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. The Lucas Oil Pit is set up and the team are busy making final preparations for our first qualifying session scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) morning. After a disappointing start to the season we can't wait to get out there. As always the Andersen Racing Team have been working extremely hard away from the track and have invested in new components for the car. Unfortunately it raining here at the moment and so the sportsman classes are on hold. The forecast over the weekend looks fairly changeable at the moment but we are hopeful that the traditional Swedish sunshine will roll in and we will be able to hit the track tomorrow.
30th July, 2010 - 19:00 - Evening Update
Welcome back to Mantorp Park. Rain soaked the track overnight on Thursday and continued on Friday morning. The track crew worked incredibly hard and we managed to make it out for Q1 late on Friday afternoon. The Lucas Oil dragster simply overpowered the Mantorp track and the tires went straight up in smoke off the line. Many teams struggled to get a handle on the track but Anita Makela led the field with a strong 4.02, Urs Erbacher too the number two spot with a 4.22. Our 11 second pass has us at the bottom of the field, outside the list of eight qualifiers. The crew are currently going through the data with a fine tooth comb to get the dragster dialled in to the track. We have our fingers crossed the the weather stays dry tomorrow and we have time for a second qualifying pass.
31st July, 2010 - 12:00 - Qualifier #2
The rain has stayed away and we are up and running at Mantorp Park. With some uncertainty over the weather for the rest of the day and the Lucas Oil dragster sitting outside the field this was a very very important pass. The car launched strongly, no sign of shake and really started to haul at the top end of the track... a 4.21 putting Carter in the field in the number at number two! Weather pending there will be another qualifier later today.
31st July, 2010 - 19:00 - Evening Update
The weather stayed fine and we managed to fit in Q3. Another great pass from the Lucas Oil dragster, the Andersen Racing crew doing a great job to read the track and lay down at 4.18 to secure number two spot. With a good pass in each lane we go into to tomorrows eliminations with confidence. We face Stig Neergaard in round one.
1st August, 2010 - 16:00 - Evening Update
Unfortunately today's racing has been affected by the weather. There was just enough gap in the showers to a squeeze in round one of Pro Mod but more rain came after the first pair of fuel cars ran and the race has been called off.
We now move on to Germany for the penultimate round of the tour in two weeks time.
