3rd July, 2009 - 10:00 - Morning Update

We are on hold for rain at the moment, a real shame after a lovely day at the track yesterday. We are hoping it will brighten up this afternoon and we will be able to get out on the track.

4th July, 2009 - 11:00 - Qualifier #1

Welcome back to Finland. After delays yesterday because of rain and then a big oil down the Top Fuel session did not get to run before the curfew. However nice weather greeted us this morning and Top Fuel were called for their first qualifier about 11am.

Andy Carter was last up in the Lucas Oil dragster. A very strong launch but then the car lost traction. A 4.992 good enough for number 6 spot. Number one spot went to Risto Poutianen with a 4.483... don't forget we are running over 1000ft this weekend!

Plans are afoot for another 2 qualifiers today. The crew are back in the pits and servicing the car ready for the second session.

A great run in the second session for Andy Carter and Lucas Oil dragster... a real strong 4.12... and enough to claim the number one spot! Unfortunately rain has started and the racing has been called for today so we wont get a chance for another qualifier. The Lucas Oil Super Crew have once again prepared a great car and we a looking forward to eliminations tomorrow where we face Timo Lehtimaki.

3. Stig Neergard 4.26

5th July, 2009 - 17:30 - Final

Carter vs Neegaard. AC left the line first, both cars were together the length of the track, the Lucas Oil dragster just crossing the line first to give Carter a hole shot win in the final – 4.12 to Stig's 4.10. A fantastic end to a great weekend. the Super Crew have had the car running consistently all weekend – a splendid achievement.
