ProCare Rx Back Carter For NHRA Trio
ProCare Rx, an innovative leader in the pharmacy benefits management industry, announced today they will be sponsoring FIA European Top Fuel Champion Andy Carter at the 50th annual Kragen O'Reilly NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California on 11th-14th February and the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Phoenix, Arizona, on 19th-21st February.
Carter, dubbed "The King of Europe", will also be backed by Big Daddy Don Garlits for those two races as well as for the NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville, Florida, on 11th-14th March.
"I have to start with a big Thank You to Roger Burgess of ProCare Rx," Carter said. "Alongside Don's backing, this marketing partnership will enable me to compete in the first three rounds of the NHRA Full Throttle Top Fuel Championship - really a dream come true for me.
"Our series in Europe is not as hectic as the twenty three race schedule the NHRA has and these three events will give me a chance to be on the top of my game when the FIA European Championships starts in May. It's a marathon in the USA and I'm privileged to work with people like Roger and Don and their teams."
Burgess said "I'm a drag racing fan, and it's really a thrill to be able to help bring such a talented driver like Andy over to race with NHRA. I truly believe that the international community is taking notice of drag racing, and I'm glad to be in a position to help."
Carter will be driving the dragster owned by Terry Haddock Racing and will have at least four European crew members at his side as he tackles the quarter-mile, including his previous Crew Chief Eddie Corr. Corr tuned Carter to his first two FIA European Top Fuel Championships in 2001 and 2004.
"I'm looking forward to working with Terry again. I know he is working really hard, getting everything ready to rock and roll. This is a pretty good car and one that qualified at eighteen out of nineteen NHRA events entered in 2009, as well as finishing twelfth in the Full Throttle Championship on a very limited budget. Whatever happens, the Winternationals is the 50th anniversary event and to have the likes of Don Garlits and Roger Burgess hanging out in our pit is going to be pretty special."
The Dragster will carry the logos of Big Daddy Don Garlits and ProCare Rx at all three event and will also have support from Lucas Oil and K&N Filters.
