Xtreme all go!
An Xtreme Return!
Following three successful years (04, 05 and 06), the Xtreme Wheels show is set to return in 2010. Only this time, the show will see some major differences to the previous event held in the Capital.
The 2010 'Xtreme Wheels Motor Show' will be held at the Haynes International Motor Museum, near Yeovil and will offer an outdoor event with the venues track facilities, providing space for live action. The other major difference will be the move from February to June, where the show will now be held over the weekend of the 12-13th.
The event will be organised by a number of the original team including Bob and Cathie Glassup and Dan Welberry.
"Xtreme Wheels was a very successful show, enjoying 3 very positive years at Alexandra Palace. Right from the beginning I must say that nothing would have been achieved without the vision and drive of Terry Gibbs who headed up the first events and gave so much to the drag racing and custom car scene. We'd like to thank Tina Gibbs for giving us her blessing to continue under the 'Xtreme Wheels' banner and as a mark of respect to the family, we will be naming the shows main prize in honour of Terry.
For 2010, we are aiming to maintain the events high standards but with a fresh feel. The Haynes International Motor Museum will provide us with a perfect venue. Show visitors will be able to enjoy this outstanding museum as part of their admission, as well as a packed show field and a live action track facility! The show field will feature the very best of the custom car scene, drag racing machinery, American muscle, tractor pulling, imports, Vdubs and many more 'xtreme machines'! The live action arena we intend to offer daily displays to include dragster burnouts, jet car demos, drifting, monster truck car crushing, cackle fests and much more!
Our event title sponsorship has already been agreed and will be announced shortly, along with a number of other associate partners and major exhibitors. We're well on our way to putting on, what promises to be a very exciting event with a number of key partners ready to back what they see as an event that could easily become a prominent part of the show calendar." commented Dan Welberry.
