Big Bang Santa Pod Raceway
25th - 27th March 2008

The weekend after the AACI show at Billing saw the Lucas Oil / Carter Motorsport display setting up at Santa Pod Raceway for the first Volkswagen show of the year. Although the show was mainly about VW's there were several invited drag racing classes also in attendance and it was all held under warm and sunny skies.

The Lucas Oil Top Fuel display was in a prominent position and attracted thousands of visitors over the weekend and as usual we answered many questions on Top Fuel and Lucas products. Many people, who although familiar with drag racing, had never seen a Top Fuel car run said they would come to see the racing at the next event and also promised to support the Lucas Oil / Carter Motorsport team. The most asked question was how much power does it make? When asked what do you think answers range from 1500bhp to 3000bhp but when you tell people it makes 8000bhp they are totally surprised and I think in some cases don't believe these figures.

We gave away so many hero cards and posters that we nearly ran out but it all helps to promote the sport, our primary sponsor Lucas Oil and all our associate sponsors whose help is invaluable in our quest for the 2008 FIA Top Fuel championship.

Like Billing this was a busy but enjoyable weekend for the team. Your tired, but happy team at Santa Pod were Andy Carter, Sarah Carter, Albert Carter, Richard Bruton, Ian Jones, Gary Cottingham , Phil Cottingham.
